Regional hoster deploys Parallels Automation for Cloud Infrastructure (PACI) for small and medium businesses in Hong Kong as it continues to expand its footprint in the region
HONG KONG AND SINGAPORE – April 12, 2012 - ReadySpace, a regional cloud and managed hosting provider, today announced its deployment of Parallels Automation for Cloud Infrastructure (PACI), a complete, turn-key cloud infrastructure solution, for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Hong Kong. The announcement reflects ReadySpace’s aggressive expansion in Asia-Pacific where cloud adoption among SMBs is one of the fastest in the region with Hong Kong being one of the key markets for the company.
Parallels recently released the key findings of Parallels Asia-Pacific SMB Cloud Insights™, a report illustrating how service providers in Australia, China, India and Japan can profit by delivering cloud services to SMBs. Parallels has determined that the market opportunity to serve SMBs in the developed Asian markets such as Australia and Japan remains vibrant, while developing countries such as China and India are poised for explosive cloud services growth as they continue to build out their Internet infrastructure.
Designed as a fully-scalable solution for service providers to deliver cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to SMBs, PACI offers complete hosting control, from provisioning and billing to self-service management and security. With ReadySpace Cloud Services powered by PACI, ReadySpace can provide its customers with utility billing and security features comparable to what Amazon Web Services and Rackspace Cloud were offering. The platform also had to support multiple operating systems and enable customers to scale horizontally using load balancers instead of having to ramp up their server resources each time there was a surge in demand.
“Like other Asia-Pacific countries, we are anticipating a faster adoption of cloud technologies among Hong Kong SMBs this year, driven by the government’s aggressive plans to transition to the cloud,” said David Loke, executive director of ReadySpace. “A key driver for this adoption is the relatively low set-up cost involved, helping them establish new business functions quickly and efficiently.”
“We understand that business requirements can change very quickly, especially in today’s economy. On demand cloud services, with flexible pay-as-you-go charging models, create strong appeal for SMBs. PACl provides the key features and functionality to enable us to deliver the widest range of hosted services as the demand for efficient cloud services continues to rise in Asia-Pacific,” added Loke.
“Helping thousands of our service provider partners to capitalize on the growing market of cloud services has always been our main objective,” said John Zanni, vice president of service provider marketing and alliances of Parallels. “With PACI, ReadySpace is now able to provide real cloud services that easily compete with the big players and continue to be successful in leveraging our solutions to grow, differentiate and profit from the emerging and competitive cloud market. We look forward to seeing them deliver a new wide range cloud infrastructure services for the diverse needs of the Asian SMBs.”
Founded by a group of young entrepreneurs in 2003, ReadySpace started with less than US$3,000 and many of its operations were manually driven. As the business grew, the company realized it had to automate its operations to ensure continued growth. Through partnering with Parallels to roll out solutions that consisted of Parallels’ business automation and virtualization technologies, ReadySpace was able to focus on creating innovative solutions and improving the customer experience. The company now operates in the Asia Pacific region with five offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and south China.
