How Do I Generate A Complete Memory Dump If I Am Asked By Support

Generating a complete memory dump – On occasion, the Parallels Support team may determine a memory dump is necessary when troubleshooting.

Follow the steps below to create a complete memory dump:

  1. Open the Run utility.complete memory dump
  2. Enter the text sysdm.cpl.complete memory dump
  3. A window will pop up. Select the Advanced tab, then click on the Settings button under the Startup and Recovery section.complete memory dump
  4. Under the System failure section, select the Complete memory dump option in the Write debugging information drop-down menu. If this option is missing in the drop-down menu, see here. (link to bottom part of the page)
  5. Click on the OK button to apply the change.
  6. Restart your computer for the option to take effect.

Once the dump is generated, compress it and upload it to the Support team.

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Open the Run utility.
  3. Enter regedit.
  4. Click on the OK button.
  5. Select the key below:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl

  1. On the right-hand panel, double-click on CrashDumpEnabled to edit it.
  2. Change the value to 1.
  3. Click on the OK button.
  4. Restart your computer.
