Parallels System Automation provides the features and benefits of a carrier-grade service, including redundancy, high availability, scalability, and extensibility. Key concepts are highlighted below.
Multi-Tiered
Parallels System Automation provides a hierarchy which can accommodate an unlimited number of resellers and sub-resellers. Services, resources, and capabilities can be allocated to lower levels according to the business needs of the provider.
Customizable
Parallels System Automation delivers customized branding and services at each level of the hierarchy (provider, reseller, sub-reseller, customer). Using the Parallels System Automation Skin Development Toolkit, providers can develop their own skins to match the look and feel of other corporate materials.
Modular
Service providers can purchase, deploy, and use only the modules that they need. When an update to a module is released, the provider can deploy the new module without having to re-test the entire product. For example, a provider may elect to use the Parallels System Automation billing system or utilize the Parallels System Automation application programming interface (API) to integrate an existing billing system. Data can be imported or exported in XML format.
Scalable
Parallels System Automation can manage a single server deployment or manage an entire data center containing several single purpose servers. Load testing was successfully completed with over two million customer accounts.
Extendable
Parallels System Automation functionality can be extended by installing new modules developed by Parallels, third party ISVs, or hosting provider in house development teams using the Parallels System Automation SDK. New modules can be deployed directly from the Parallels System Automation user interface without service interruption. This can include standard services or next-generation, future services.
