In this Marketing Best Practices white paper, available through Parallels PartnerNet, we explore how best to merchandise web services to two groups of customers – those who are less technically oriented and those who are more technically oriented – as well as providing general merchandising recommendations that apply to all customers. By following these best practices, you’ll be able to maximize your rate of converting browsers to buyers, as well as increasing your revenues.
Now you have more ecommerce choices available through Parallels Payment Network. We’re introducing two new PCI–compliant eCommerce services: one from Chase Paymentech and one from Pinnacle Cart.

CloudFlare speeds up website performance through its global content delivery network: by storing content in multiple locations around the world, it enables pages to load quickly no matter where site visitors are located. The service also enhances security, protecting against online threats ranging from spammers to SQL injection to DDOS attacks – plus it provides website owners with powerful site analytics.
We met the CloudFlare team last year and were impressed with the ease of use of the service (it takes less than five minutes to install), as well as with its results. With CloudFlare, websites load, on average, twice as fast as before and are optimized for fast rendering. In addition, they’re protected against a broad range of threats, and website owners get powerful analytics to help them understand their traffic.
CloudFlare also delivers many operational benefits to service providers: reduced server load, significant bandwidth savings, protection from DDoS attacks, and an automatic IPv4/6 gateway. In addition, it provides monetary benefits, since you can increase your ARPU by reselling CloudFlare to your customers.
We wanted to make it super–easy for Parallels service providers to offer CloudFlare to their customers – and we’ve done that by making it available to all Parallels Plesk Panel 10.4 and Parallels Plesk Panel 11 users via the APS catalog. You can choose from two plans: CloudFlare Free, a no–cost plan; and CloudFlare Performance Plus, offering enhanced services.
Today, over 500,000 websites use CloudFlare. They range from blogs to ecommerce websites, and from SMBs to Fortune 500 companies to governments. Now your SMB customers can be among them. Offer your customers enterprise-level performance and security today – with CloudFlare.

Parallels is committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions to our customers. As new technologies emerge, the demand for older product versions and components decreases. As we continue to address our customers' needs by introducing new products and services, we also periodically need to end support for older software versions.
In keeping with our Parallels Business Automation Standard (PBAS) lifecycle policy, we will be ending support for the following versions on December 15, 2012:To continue to receive technical support and product updates, you will need to upgrade to the latest version, Parallels Business Automation Standard 4.2.2.
In addition, if you are using a perpetual PBAS license, please make sure that you have purchased Software Update Services (SuS), or consider switching to leased licenses, which include SuS. If you don’t yet have SuS and want to buy it, you can do so at half the regular price until October 31, 2012. Please contact your account manager for details.
You can download the latest upgrade files and release notes at https://parallelsnetwork.com/download-pbas.
For more information and step–by–step instructions on how to upgrade from previous PBAS versions, please refer to Knowledge Base article #2043.
You may also want to read more about the Parallels Business Automation Standard lifecycle policy and lifecycle policies for other Parallels products and watch our pre-recorded PBAS 4.2 Best Practices webinar, which will give you an update on all the new features in PBAS 4.2. These include:In keeping with our Parallels Plesk Panel lifecycle policy, we will be ending the ability to order Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5.x keys. The end of sales for this older key type coincides with this version of the panel entering the Extended Support phase of its lifecycle.
NOTE: Any licenses that have already been created will not be affected by this change.
Parallels Plesk Panel 9.5 keys will no longer be available as of December 9, 2012.
After this date, your customers must purchase Parallels Plesk Panel 10.x or 11.x licenses. Please ensure that your key ordering systems and processes are updated with this new availability information.
Nephos Networks developed a business model that depended on the ability to package, provision, and manage software in the cloud. To make this business model efficient, the company needed a way to automate a large number of operational and billing related tasks, making the delivery of applications as fast as possible. Nephos Networks also needed to manage relationships with ISVs and resellers. Parallels Automation helped Nephos Networks manage a wide range of business tasks that would usually be time-consuming, manual processes. Across service provisioning, account control, billing, and reseller management, Parallels Automation forms the backbone of the Nephos Networks service.
If you have a partnership agreement in place with Parallels (whether Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum), you should take a moment to fill out your company profile in PartnerNet. Why? By doing so you will add your company to the Parallels Partner Locator, making it easier for potential customers to find you.
If you’re a PartnerNet member but don’t yet have a partnership agreement with Parallels, this is a great reason to consider setting up at least a Bronze-level agreement. Information about our partner program can be found here. You can also contact us at partnernet@parallels.com or talk to your local Parallels sales rep for more information.
Parallels Automation Support team has initiated a new process of knowledge–sharing between engineers. Now, instead of escalating a ticket to the next level, engineers invite someone from the next level of support to join their on-line session and share their knowledge and experience to help them resolve the issue. This approach is expected to quickly increase the average level of engineering proficiency.
