Technical Support Engineer

Role Definition

Parallels is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Japan support team and assist with both technical and business help in using Parallels products. This position is based in Tokyo.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer tickets and phone calls in friendly, professional manner
  • Understand customer's problem and drive the issue to a successful resolution in timely manner including escalating to a higher tier should it be necessary
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing concise and exhaustive replies both via the phone and the ticketing system that address all customer's questions
  • Maintain current functional and technical knowledge of the Parallels product line
  • Function as a front-line technical resource for all customer questions

Desired Skills & Experience Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in technical support (in Japan or/and with customers from Japan) preferably with ISP or in hosting industry
  • Native Japanese language speaker
  • Intermediate English language, both written and verbal
  • Windows(!)/Linux server administration skills (esp. networking, performance)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Quick learner, able to handle steep learning curve

Pre-Sales Engineer, SP

Parallels Pre-Sales Engineer (SE) plays a critical role in building and sustaining customer relationships while driving the adoption of Parallels solutions to surpass our revenue goals. The SE works very closely with sales teams to build long-term business relationships within assigned accounts. The SE is a high impact, very visible role responsible for ensuring the adoption of Parallels software and solutions, and closing transactions within assigned accounts.

Responsibilities:
  • Become an Expert on Parallels solutions and associated technologies
  • Technical Focal point for Service Provider partner enablement
  • Present Parallels technical value proposition to customers and partners
  • Proactively drive new business through the channel

Qualifications:

Inside Sales Account Manager, SP

The Inside Sales Account Manager will be responsible for growing sales and revenue from our cloud enablement products:

Responsibilities:
  • Generate qualified leads and sales opportunities by prospecting, cold call and follow up with inbound inquiries (phone, web visits/downloads, tradeshows, seminars, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers in multiple countries via telephone and email
  • Answer inbound pre-sales calls and emails and proactively promote the product range
  • Inform and educate partners of new products and developments
  • Meet measurable goals and sales quotas set on a quarterly basis
  • Actively contribute to sales revenue generation and work with Sales Managers to determine priorities, territories and needs

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of sales experience in a retail / channel environment and B2B
  • Commercial education
  • Ability to work autonomously and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Ability to collate data and produce Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and reports

Sales Manager for the Cross-Platform business

As part of this rapid growth, the company is looking for a Sales Manager for the Cross-Platform business in Singapore. The person will be responsible for all Sales and Channel activities in the Singapore market for Parallels Desktop for Mac and all upcoming Desktop Virtualization Solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with named partners (distributors and resellers in a 2 tier model)
    • Increasing Sales with Apple Premium Reseller partners
  • Assess, evaluate, establish and develop growth strategy for each account
  • Track, review and analyze sales and marketing activities through written account planning
    • Provide written weekly reporting on all named accounts, including sales tracking and activities
    • Present monthly review of named accounts to CP management team
  • Generate ideas and initiatives that capitalize on existing and prospective partner strengths to drive substantive, additional benefit for Parallels in the market
    • Work with internal departments such as Sales and Marketing to understand their strategic priorities and identify opportunities to support those initiatives
  • Achieving and exceeding Sales Quotas

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of quota driven sales experience in the IT industry, preferably in software sales
  • Proven track record on over-delivering on quota
  • Proven successful sales track record working with IT channel partners
