RENTON, WA – December 15, 2011 – Parallels, the hosting and Cloud services enablement leader, today announced that Parallels Automation partners are achieving a 66 percent yearly growth rate in the number of deployed applications and services among those certified and packaged in the Application Packaging Standard (APS) program. In addition, the applications available in the APS catalogue have exceeded 2 million downloads by hosters, service providers and their customers.
The APS program enables Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and other providers of hosted services to gain access to a vast sales channel by connecting with more than 10,000 Parallels service providers and resellers who serve more than 10 million small and medium businesses (SMBs). In turn, hosters and other cloud service providers have access to the growing variety of APS-enabled applications and services that are easy and ready-to-deploy. Service providers using Parallels Automation and Parallels Plesk Panel can quickly and easily add new, sticky APS packaged services while generating higher average revenue per user (ARPU).
In addition to the explosive, double-digit growth of deployed APS applications, more than 100 applications have been added or updated under the APS certification program in 2011 alone, covering a wide range of Web, messaging and collaboration, infrastructure and other hosted applications. The entire catalogue of packaged and/or updated applications in the APS ecosystem is now approaching 300, with dozens more applications from ISVs expected to receive APC certification and packaging in the coming year.

Once packaged in the APS format by a software vendor, an application can be easily "plugged" into the infrastructure of any hosting provider that has implemented the standard "socket" for hosting APS applications.
