Following an extensive review of the industry's best control panel products, Data393 selected the Plesk platform as giving server customers the most stability, features and management tools.Herndon, VA, April 26, 2004--Data393, a locally owned co-location and managed Web hosting services company, today announced that it has adopted Plesk from SWsoft, the world's leading provider of hosting software, as its standard control panel for new dedicated server, shared and bulk reseller server customers.
Following an extensive review of the industry's best control panel products, Data393 selected the Plesk platform as giving server customers the most stability, features and management tools. Plesk 7 incorporates 60 new enhancements, including a new sub-domain manager, a multi-level trouble ticketing system, custom button and skin management, a site builder and osCommerce e-commerce software support. The software also features a newly designed Windows XP-like user interface, equipped with SpamAssassin, an open source anti-spam tool, and includes "Application Vault," an extendible application repository that allows point and click packaging, configuration and installation for hundreds of applications.
"Plesk is an outstanding, world-class product that meets our need to support both Linux and Windows from a single control panel," said Data393 Vice President of Operations Paul Beckelheimer. "At the same time, our customers gain the benefit of more stable and robust functionality than they've received previously. This platform has a strong performance history and greatly simplifies the management of an Internet presence. Stability and access to the right tools are key, and because Plesk 7 will let us deliver that promise to our growing customer base, we have been able to drop other previously adopted control panels."
The decision follows Data393's January merger with Denver hosting companies Huge Hosting and Ventures Online, which brought more than 10,000 customers to its high-end, 6,200-square-foot facility. Located in south Denver, Data393 has connections from eight separate Tier-1 Internet service providers, enabling the company to host even the most complex applications and data-rich Web sites. Last fall, Data393 was chosen by Hughes Network Systems as a "point of presence" for its next-generation broadband satellite system.
"We are very pleased that Data393 has chosen Plesk 7 for its customers," said Serguei Beloussov, CEO and founder of SWsoft. "We are confident that our portfolio is really helping hosting providers expand their offerings and improve their server management and administration processes, allowing customers the luxury of spending time focusing on other areas of their business."
