Where is Parallels Summit 2013?

Parallels Summit 2013 will take place at Caesars Palace located at 3570 Las Vegas Boulevard South in Las Vegas, Nevada. What are the conference dates?

The conference will commence with a Welcome Reception from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, February 4, 2013 and conclude with a Closing Reception from 5:00 – 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2013.

Should I arrive a day early and watch the Super Bowl in Las Vegas?

Why, yes, you should! Las Vegas is the best place in the world to watch the game. And as you can read here, Caesars Palace is one of the top-rated locations in Las Vegas for watching the game. If you're so inclined you can watch the game in the Caesars Sports Book, voted number one by Las Vegas Review Journal four years in a row. In addition to large chairs for lounging, the Sports Book has six 12-foot by 15-foot oversized screens, a 20-foot by 50-foot LED board, twelve 50-inch plasma screens plus 12-inch flat screens at every table.

We've reserved extra hotel rooms for Sunday night at the special discounted Parallels Summit room rate. So fly in Sunday, February 3 and watch the game that afternoon and into the evening. Then join us Monday night as we kick off Parallels Summit.

What is the registration fee for Parallels Summit 2013?

The registration fee is $299 per person for all attendees. Early registration discounts may apply. Check the Parallels Summit home page for details.

Will attendees get free passes this year?

No, we will not be issuing free general attendee passes this year. We realize this is a change from past policy so we want to explain why this step is required. Parallels Summit has grown to the point where costs to cover food and beverage, conference facilities and other items have increased dramatically. Even with sponsor revenue and projected attendee registration fees Parallels does not come close to covering costs for producing the conference.

As one of the last major conferences to institute a fee we have worked to keep it as low as possible. Spreading this relatively small fee across attendees allows Parallels to avoid what is otherwise a large aggregated cost which would impact our ability to invest in other areas which are also important to partners. Charging a small registration fee ensures we can continue to produce the level of event experience you have come to expect from Parallels Summit.

How do I register?

Please register for Parallels Summit 2013 by going to the registration site.

I started my registration and didn’t finish. How can I complete my registration?

Please access the registration site and enter your email and password credentials you originally created. If you need assistance, please contact the Parallels Summit 2013 registration team at ParallelsSummit2013

I received a discount code. How do I apply it to my registration?

If you have not yet registered for Parallels Summit 2013, follow the instructions to enter a code in the login process on the Registration site. If you have already registered, please forward your discount code to our registration team via email at ParallelsSummit2013. Please allow up to 48 hours for your request to be processed.

What is the payment policy?

Parallels Summit 2013 Registration and Housing accepts several methods of payment: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Payment must accompany your registration. Registrations without payment will not be processed.

What is the cancellation policy?

All cancellations must be made online or received in writing. If you registered and paid to attend Parallels Summit 2013 through the registration system, you may cancel your registration on the registration site by logging in with your credentials, or provide written notice to ParallelsSummit2013 before 11:59 pm PST on Friday, February 1, 2013.

If cancellation is received on or before this date, we will refund your full registration fee. After February 1, if you cancel or do not attend the conference, for any reason, refunds will not be honored and you will be responsible for the full payment of the conference registration fees.

Are attendee substitutions permitted?

If you’re unable to attend Parallels Summit 2013, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please email ParallelsSummit2013 with the new attendee's name and contact information by Friday, February 1, 2013. Substitutions will not be granted after this date.

If I cancel my registration, can I transfer my hotel reservation to another attendee?

Hotel reservations made through Parallels Summit Registration and Housing are transferable to other Parallels Summit 2013 attendees. The substituting attendee will need to complete his/her hotel reservation through the registration process and submit a new credit card to secure the reservation.

Can I bring a guest?

Guests will not be permitted to attend any Parallels Summit 2013 conference functions, including the evening networking events.

Travel and Hotel

What is the hotel room guarantee/deposit policy?

No advance deposit is required and all room and tax charges will be applied upon check-in. However, should you cancel less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to 6:00 p.m. on the arrival date, the hotel will charge the cost of one night's room and tax to the credit card provided. This includes “no-show” reservations.

What is the hotel room cancellation policy?

After January 18, 2013 (12:00 pm PST): Any changes/cancellations to your hotel reservation must be handled directly with the hotel.

Any changes/cancellations to your hotel reservations must be made no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date. Failure to cancel your reservation within this time with result in a charge of one night’s room and tax to your credit card. Failure to arrive on your scheduled arrival date will result in the cancellation of the remainder of your hotel reservation and a charge of one night’s room and tax to your credit card.

If I cancel my registration, can I transfer my hotel reservation to another attendee?

Hotel reservations made through Parallels Summit Registration and Housing are transferable to other Parallels Summit 2013 attendees. The substituting attendee will need to complete his/her hotel reservation through the registration process and submit a new credit card to secure the reservation.

What if I don’t check in on my scheduled arrival date?

If you don’t arrive on your scheduled arrival date, the hotel will cancel your entire reservation and can opt not to reinstate your reservation, even if you arrive the next day. You will also be charged the penalty of the cost of one night's room and tax, regardless of whether or not the hotel opts to reinstate your reservation.

Can I make a hotel reservation through Parallels Summit Registration and Housing without a credit card to guarantee my reservation?

No, all hotel reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card.

Can I pay the hotel with a different credit card than the one I provided when I reserved the room?

Yes. However if the card used as a guarantee for your hotel reservation is not in your name, that cardholder must be present at check-in, or a faxed credit card authorization form must be set up with the hotel prior to your arrival.

Can I contact the hotel directly to make a hotel reservation at Parallels Summit discounted rates or to change my existing reservation?

Reservations made after January 18, 12:00 pm PST must be made directly with the hotel and any subsequent changes must also be made through the hotel directly.

After January 18, 2013 reservations will be accepted by Caesars Palace on a space- and rate-available basis. After that date you must contact the hotel separately and directly to make room reservations. For best results we suggest that you call the hotel for reservations at 1-800-223-7277. When you contact the hotel note that you are with "Parallels Summit 2013" and request a room in the Palace Tower as these rooms are located directly above the conference center. Prior to January 18 the group rate for all standard single and double rooms at Caesars Palace was $189 per night, plus a 12% state/county lodging tax. The hotel cannot guarantee the group rate once the room block is sold out.

Should you find the room block sold out or want to pursue another option, there are many other hotels within walking distance of Caesars Palace. There is also a monorail system that can efficiently move people between more distant hotels.

Will I receive a hotel confirmation after booking my hotel through Parallels Summit Registration and Housing?

Yes. All hotel reservations made prior to January 18, 2013 through the registration website are managed by the Parallels Summit Housing Team. A final hotel confirmation will be emailed to you on or before January 25, 2013, confirming your reservation. If you would like to check on the status of your reservation or have questions, please contact the Parallels Summit Housing Team at ParallelsSummit2013.

How do I request a visa invitation?
You can request a visa invitation letter to assist in obtaining your visa to attend Parallels Summit 2013. You must register for the conference prior to requesting a visa invitation. Please send an email to ParallelsSummit2013 and provide the following information:
- First name as listed on passport
- Last name as listed on passport
- Full name as listed on registration
- Country of origin
- Passport number
- Passport expiration date
- Date of birth
- Full address of your local United States embassy/consulate
- Fax number of your local United States embassy/consulate
Please note that by requesting a visa invitation letter, this does not guarantee that your local authorities will grant a visa to attend Parallels Summit 2013.

What is the weather like in Las Vegas in February?

Although Las Vegas is famous for its hot desert climate, February generally brings pleasant sunny weather with a daytime average temperature of 63 degrees (F). Please check www.weather.com before you arrive.

Which airports are closest to Las Vegas?

Caesars Palace is approximately 4 miles, less than 15 minutes, from Las Vegas’s McCarran International Airport (LAS). Taxis are readily available at the airport. Some taxis will not accept credit card payments. Customers should notify the attendant if they plan to use a credit card for payment.

What is the recommended attire for the conference?

Business casual attire is suggested for all conference functions. Meeting room temperatures are cool and the Las Vegas climate can vary greatly, so we also suggest you wear layered clothing for comfort and flexibility.

Are spouses or children invited to Parallels Summit social activities?

Currently, guest passes are not available for purchase. Children under 18 are not eligible to attend the event.
