Course Overview

The course provides attendees the knowledge and skills necessary to configure and maintain Plesk for Linux. Advanced topics give information about Plesk structure, main services and their components, configuration files, and database. This enables Plesk users to feel more comfortable when maintaining, customizing, and integrating Plesk with other products.

Course Content

Course is divided into several modules. Most modules contain topics with subject descriptions followed by on-screen demonstrations. At the end of topics, participants will be evaluated on the subjects learned.

• Architecture Overview
  Plesk structure, main components, and functions. Directory structure. Configuration files. Apache servers. Plesk database. Analysis tools.

• Control Panel
  Administrative Apache server. Management scripts. Localization. Control Panel skin customization.

• Services
  Structure, configuration, and management of main services: MySQL, PostgreSQL, DNS, Apache, FrontPage, Tomcat, ProFTP, Qmail, Courier-IMAP, Mailman, SpamAssassin, DrWeb.

• Event Management
  Administering Event handlers with Control Panel or Command Line Interface.

• Creation Utilities
  Using creation utilities as an integration tool.

• Application Vault
  Application structure. Application scripts. Application creation, installation, and deployment.

• Support Issues
  Backup and restore. Password recovery. Protecting task manager from running privileged tasks. Applying to Parallels support
