Course Overview

This course is designed to introduce participants on the main features of Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder and includes demonstrations of the product features. The training highlights the product’s features, functions, installation, configuration, and maintenance. Participants will learn how to install and configure Sitebuilder for Linux with various options, explore different operating modes, and follow various demonstrated procedures similar to those faced by the product administrators every day such as setting different Sitebuilder components, working with resellers, maintaining the system, and integrating with other products.

Course Content

This course is divided into several modules. Most modules contain topics with subject descriptions followed by on-screen demonstrations. At the end of the modules, participants will be evaluated on the subjects learned.

  • Introduction to the Product
    Main goals. Main features. Creating the first site.

  • Product Overview
    Architecture overview. Sitebuilder components and terms: Sites, Templates and Template Categories, Modules, Hosts, Plans, Resellers.

  • Installation
    Distribution Components. Pre-installation check-list. Installation procedure. Post-installation steps.

  • System Configuration
    Management tools: access, menu structure. Configuration steps. General settings. Component management: Page Sets, Template Categories, Templates, Modules, Language Packs, Skins. Site management. Site publication.

  • Building Sites
    Interface components. Site building procedure. Details of different steps: Site Design, Pages, Edit, Extra, Publish.

  • System Maintenance
    Backup. Update. Integration with other products: Virtuozzo, Plesk, Parallels Business Automation.

Lab Exercises

Not included in the course. Applicable for on-site training only.

Prerequisites

The attendees should be familiar with the following subjects.

  • Principles of providing hosting services
  • Basic knowledge of Operating System administration
