Course Overview
In this course, you’ll learn about the main features of Parallels Business Automation Standard (PBAS), with step-by-step instructions and extended lab exercises. You’ll learn how to administer a multi-server, multi-platform environment using Parallels Business Automation Standard and will practice administering hosting service provider sites.

Hosting service provider and reseller staff responsible for system and business administration, accounting, and partner management based on the Parallels Business Automation Standard solution including initial configuration, integration with external hosting systems, and day-to-day operations covering accounts, billing documents, hosting plans, subscriptions, and resources.

Course Content
- Introduction
Brief introduction to issues faced by hosting providers and a description of the features and advantages PBAS.
- Architecture Overview
Introduction to hosting service provider site. Description of a typical PBAS deployment, including integration with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, Parallels Plesk Panel, Sitebuilder, and dedicated servers. Brief introduction to the PBAS structure, including the account hierarchy and administration tools.
- Initial Implementation
Basic operations using the Provider Control Center. Initial service settings, including IP pool allocation, name server assignment, domain registration, use of Parallels Virtuozzo Containers hardware node, Parallels Plesk Panel server registration, and OS template and application template installation. On-line payment system settings. Hosting plan creation and provisioning via the online store. Customer subscriptions. Payment process.
- System Administration
Security system. Domain administration. External server management, including Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, Parallels Plesk Panel, Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder, and dedicated servers. License administration.
- Business Administration
Billing system setup, including payment processing features, payment plug-in modules, credit card and bank transfer processing, recurring billing, fraud protection, credit terms, partner levels, discounts, promotions, and taxation. Commerce activity, involving creating and selling various hosting plans. Document processing. Marketing activity.
- Channel Management
Preparing the system for reselling provider resources. Creating channels manually and on-line. Provider and reseller activities.
- Customer Functionality
Working with the customer control panel and mail-user My Control Panel. Account, system, and site administration. Parallels Plesk Panel resource management. Building Web sites with Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder. Working with trouble tickets.
- Event Management
Tracking events and planning actions based on events.
- System Maintenance
VPS maintenance: backing up and restoring, repairing, destroying, and migrating. Service level management. Integration tools. Help desk. Parallels Business Automation customization. Troubleshooting tools.
