In this course, you’ll learn how to administer a highly scalable, multi-server, multi-platform environment using Parallels Operations Automation. You’ll learn about the product’s features, functions, configuration, and maintenance, with step-by-step instructions.

Hosting service providers and reseller staff responsible for system and business administration, accounting, and partner management including initial configuration, integration with external hosting systems, and day-to-day operations dealing with accounts, resources, service templates, and subscriptions provisioned on various external provisioning systems.

- POA Concepts
Brief introduction to POA. Main management subsystems. Security components: accounts, users, roles, and privileges. User interface. Provisioning concepts based on resource classes, resource types, service templates, and subscriptions. Classification of hosts. Provisioning methods and flow. Introduction to architectural specifics: multilayer structure, components, and component interconnection.
- Data Center Infrastructure
Foundation of the hosting business. Types of hosts. IP management. DNS management. Package management. Service deployment workflow.
- Virtual Private Server Hosting
Integration with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers (PVC) for hosting virtual private servers (VPS). Management of OS templates and application templates. Provisioning shared and private VPSs. Hosting Parallels Plesk Panel inside VPS. VPS maintenance: accounting and shaping network traffic, backing up and restoring, migrating VPSs.
- Linux Shared Hosting
Getting Linux services ready for hosting on both physical servers and Parallels Virtuozzo Containers. Specifics of deploying and managing different services: Apache, ProFTPD, MySQL, File Manager, domain hosting and parking, shared SSL proxy, and log management.
- Windows Shared Hosting
Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) as the foundation of hosting services and resources. Overview of HMC and POA integration. Windows shared hosting infrastructure. Specifics of deploying and managing different services: IIS, SQL Server, and File Manager.
- Linux Application, Messaging and Collaboration Hosting
Mail hosting based on qmail clustered solution. Mail security systems: SpamAssassin and DrWeb. Application Packaging Standard as foundation of application hosting and framework of Software as a Service (SaaS). Different types of APS hosting: shared web hosting, VPS hosting, and external system hosting. Hosted Open-Xchange: overview, provisioning, and management.
- Windows Messaging and Collaboration Hosting
Deploying and managing hosted Exchange. Mobile messaging based on BlackBerry, Good Mobile, and ActiveSync. Mail security systems: Postini, MessageLabs, MX Logic, and Global Relay Archiving. SharePoint, Office Communication Server, and CRM hosting. Customer Directory Integration service.
