Linux System Requirements
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux runs on a wide variety of hardware and software configurations. Basic system requirements include:
- Server hardware
- Host operating system
- Supported virtual OS distributions
- Parallels Virtual Automation and Parallels Power Panel requirements
Server Hardware
- Platform: Any x86 or x64 platform that is supported by the host Linux operating system.
- Memory: 1 GB or more. (required amount depends on the total number of containers you want to run on the server)
- Disk space: At least 15 GB of free disk space. (required amount depends on the size of the software to be installed in containers)
- Network interfaces: One or more network cards.
The exact server configuration depends on how many containers you on the server and what load they generate.
Host Operating System
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.7 can be installed on the following operating systems (both x86 and x64):
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- CentOS 6

Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows runs on a wide variety of hardware and software configurations. The basic system requirements include:

Server Hardware Requirements
- Platform: Any x86 or x64 platform that is supported by Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2008 R2 (Pentium, AMD, and the like)
- Memory: 2 GB or more is recommended. (required amount depends on the total number of containers planned to run on the node)
- Disk Space: 20 GB or more free disk space. (required amount depends on the size of the software to be installed inside containers)

Hardware Compatibility
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers is built on existing operating systems and typically supports the hardware supported by the operating system. Parallels Virtuozzo Containers includes an extensive list of hardware drivers for easy reference.
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows is compatible with all hardware supported on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008 editions.
Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux is compatible with hardware devices supported by Red Hat kernels, but due to an infinite variety of computer system configurations and the manufacturing specifications and components of hardware change, Parallels cannot guarantee compatibility with all hardware.
