What’s New in Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux 4.7

Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux version 4.7 strengthens customers’ ability to deliver profitable cloud services. This product release is utilizes a new kernel based on the latest Red Hat Linux 6 kernel and brings PVCfL up to the latest enterprise distributions. In addition we have added a new memory management scheme and full support for IPv6

New Kernel

The release comes with a new kernel based on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL 6) kernel. This kernel provides a number of improvements, including better performance, optimized process handling, better memory addressability, enhanced resource control and stability.

RHEL6 and CentOS6 Support

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and CentOS6 are supported as both the Host and Guest operating systems. You can now install the release on servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or CentOS6 and use this operating system for creating new Containers.

New memory management scheme

This release introduces a new scheme for managing memory-related parameters in Containers called vSwap. vSwap is based on two main parameters: RAM and swap.

IPv6 support

This release provides full support for using IPv6 addresses with Containers, including IPv6 support by Parallels Virtual Automation.
