    Parallels Desktop and Mavericks
    1. What versions of Parallels Desktop are compatible with Mavericks?
       Parallels Desktop 9 is compatible with Mavericks. Parallels Desktop 8 will work with Mavericks but does not take advantage of Mavericks features. Please make sure you are running the most recent build of Parallels Desktop. Click on the Parallels Desktop menu and select “Check for Updates”
    2. If you are running  Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac or earlier, please visit KB117394 for important information regarding incompatibility of Mavericks and Parallels Desktop 7 and below versions.
    3. What Macs will support OS X 10.9 Mavericks?  Please visit KB117804.

    Questions on Windows XP End-of-Support by Microsoft

    After April 8, 2014, support and security updates for Windows XP will no longer be available from Microsoft. This will leave your XP VM unprotected from viruses and malware when it is connected to the internet. Upgrade options are available from Microsoft here.
    Information on how to upgrade your VM once you have a new Windows license can be found at KB120737.
    Parallels Desktop will continue to work with Windows XP but it is highly recommended that you upgrade your Windows OS system prior to April 8, 2014. 
    Parallels Customer Support will not be able to assist with XP security issues or vulnerabilities.
