Parallels Plesk Panel: Everything You Need in a Web Hosting Control Panel

Parallels Plesk Panel is the most complete Web hosting control panel available today. In fact, it’s the only Web hosting panel that includes integrated Web design tools, a SaaS storefront, and fully automated billing and provisioning. Plus it delivers maximum profits for growing service providers; provides key tools for Web designers; and includes an easy-to-use server control panel for IT professionals (and small businesses without IT staff).

A key difference from competitive products is that all Plesk components —including the panel itself, Web design tools, billing, and storefront—are part of a fully integrated package. You get a single solution that works on both Windows and Linux servers and also supports most virtualization technologies. The intuitive user interface is similar across all modules, making it easier to learn and manage. And it’s all on the same release schedule and under the same support policy, which makes your life a lot easier.

What Do You Get with Plesk?

Plesk is the most complete control panel you’ll find anywhere—and it comes with key add-ons that provide even more functionality and help you grow your business. These include:

  • Customer & Business Manager, providing end-to-end automation for all the services you sell—hosting, domain name registration, SSL certificates, software licenses, support services, and more. This fully integrated billing and automation package saves you time by automating the full customer lifecycle, from service plan creation to account provisioning to invoicing. The flexible billing system includes European as well as US tax and invoicing capabilities, and multiple options for pricing, billing, and promotions. Because Customer & Business Manager is completely integrated into the administrator’s user interface, administrators can access billing features at all times, without having to switch from one system to another. End users have their own simplified user interface, and can purchase upgrades and change features on their own, in real time—a convenience for them and less hassle for you. And because the billing system is fully synchronized with the control panel, you can change service plan parameters (such as disk storage space or bandwidth) in one location and the changes will show up instantly in the other—so you only have to make the change once.

  • Web Presence Builder, enabling you to create polished, professional-looking Web sites in record time. The new Web Presence Builder features the latest technology, including Facebook integration, social sharing capabilities, and e-commerce. A built-in WYSIWYG editor works just like a word processor, so you don’t have to learn any new skills; and a drag-and-drop feature lets you easily add images, text boxes, menu items, and more. The Web Presence Builder comes with over 75 pre-written templates to get you up and running fast—templates that include not only design elements, but also real content, for small businesses ranging from coffee shops to rock bands. And a color selector makes it easy to change the template’s color scheme to personalize the look of your Web site.

  • Partner storefront and third-party applications, boosting your profits by enabling your customers to purchase commercial applications directly from you. By partnering with Parallels in a revenue-sharing arrangement, you can offer your customers a wide variety of applications—anti-virus and anti-spam protection, server backup, ecommerce, and much, much more—without any development effort on your part. We make it all easy by taking care of the setup, provisioning, licensing, billing, and management aspects of your sales. All you have to do is tell us which applications you want to offer, send us your logo, and view a short orientation webinar on how it all works. Your storefront will be branded with your logo as well as ours, and your customers will be able to access it directly from their control panel, ordering applications on their own with just a few mouse clicks.

You can also offer a wide variety of “pluggable” commercial and open-source SaaS applications from our APS catalog—some with turnkey business terms, so you can start realizing additional revenues immediately. And all applications can be offered either individually or as part of an upsell package. Either way, by providing your customers with a broad range of applications and services, you not only increase your ARPU, but also position your business for long-term success, since becoming a full-service provider continues to be the trend in the Cloud service market.

  • Power Pack, installing popular services and tools along with your initial control panel setup—or as an easy upgrade later. The Power Pack includes spam protection, development tools, database tools, antivirus protection, tools for managing mobile websites, and tools for monitoring and managing Plesk servers from an iPhone, Android, or BlackBerry smartphone. It gives your customers the tools they need while also helping you to expand your offerings and grow your business.

What Can Plesk Do for You?

Plesk is designed to meet the needs of many types of users. How will it meet your needs?

Are you a shared Web hoster? Plesk gives you a turnkey Web hosting system that includes fully automated billing and provisioning; an integrated Web Presence Builder; and access to hundreds of Web-based applications, enabling you to create unique service plans that meet the needs of a broad variety of customers. You can offer your customers website building tools, a wide range of Web applications, mobile websites, add-ons like domain names and SSL certificates, and more—all of which increases your ARPU. And Plesk is hoster-friendly, with features that simplify management and troubleshooting, plus customer self-service capabilities that reduce your support burden. In fact, whether you’re using it to manage your own servers or looking to offer your customers a simplified user experience, you’ll find that no one beats Plesk’s ease of use.

Are you a Web designer? Plesk helps you rapidly create and update websites, readily add new technology as your customers’ needs change, and easily manage server resources—all without having to learn new skills. For example, you can plan multi-domain Web sites and associate them all with a single account. You can quickly and easily publish code to production environments, thanks to built-in support for Microsoft WebMatrix. You can choose from hundreds of open-source and commercial applications, adding them to the websites you create with a single click; and you can provide webmasters with access to Google Tools. You can simplify administration with a power-user interface that turns off shared Web hosting but maintains all other features. And the panel’s many self-service features will save you valuable time—for example, by allowing clients to manage their own e-mail accounts and application access. In short, Plesk makes the management part easy, so you can focus on what you do best: designing great websites.

Are you an IT professional or small business owner? Plesk is the ideal tool for IT professionals in small and medium business—and if your business has no IT staff, it will make your life easier, too. Take website creation, for example. Plesk comes with easy-to-use wizards that let you rapidly add new websites, plus a Web Presence Builder that includes prebuilt templates, complete with content. Its power-user interface is perfect for managing your own server and sites, without the complexities of a traditional shared hosting control panel. The panel also makes it easy to add new functionality to your website, giving you single-click access to hundreds of open-source and commercial applications. Plus Google Tools simplifies webmasters’ tasks; a highly intuitive user interface makes users’ life easier; and letting employees manage their own email eases your support burden, as does the ability to assign privileges that limit employees’ application access. By handling much of the workload that would otherwise fall to you, Plesk frees you up to focus on other tasks.
