Message to Owners of Mac OS X Leopard and Parallels Desktop for Mac

NOTE: If you are using Parallels Desktop 2.5 or earlier, do NOT install the Build 5608 update until you upgrade to Parallels Desktop 3.0.

Congratulations on your purchase of Mac OS X Leopard!

We highly recommend that Parallels Desktop customers only run Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5608 on their new Leopard operating systems.

To update your copy of Parallels Desktop 3.0 to Build 5608:

  1. Go to www.parallels.com/en/download/desktop/ and click DMG package.
  2. Save the DMG package to your Mac.
  3. Make sure that your guest operating system and the Parallels application are both shut down.
  4. Double-click the DMG package on your Mac then double-click on the Install Parallels desktop.pkg and follow the prompts to install the update.

Be sure to reinstall Parallels Tools when you have finished updating Parallels Desktop!

Parallels Tools should auto-run when you start your Virtual Machine after the upgrade. If the auto installer does not launch you need to run it manually.

  1. Select Install Parallels Tools from the Actions menu on the Parallels Desktop menu bar.
  2. Follow the prompts through the install sequence and accept the default settings.
  3. When the installation is complete, restart Windows.

To check the version and build number of your copy of Parallels Desktop for Mac, select Parallels Desktop from the Parallels Desktop menu bar and select About Parallels Desktop.
