For customers who upgraded to and registered Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac between August 28 and September 30, we value your business and want to provide a special offer to upgrade to Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac. Although you are not eligible for our Grace Period free upgrade program, we’d like to offer you a very special upgrade price.

Purchased after October 1, 2009

Grace Period Rules

• All customers that have purchased an Upgrade or a Full Version of Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac beginning October 1^st 2009 are eligible for a free-of- charge upgrade to the new version of Parallels Desktop, Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac
• All customers that have purchased a Full Version of Parallels Desktop Switch to Mac Edition beginning August 28^th (day of initial availability of this product) are eligible for a free-of-charge upgrade to the new version of Parallels Desktop, Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac.
  • Download the upgrade to the language version you are currently using
  • If prompted, use your original activation key for Parallels Desktop Switch to Mac Edition to activate the product

This free-of-charge upgrade is applicable for downloaded version (ESD) and physical products (Software Box), purchased directly with Parallels, in Retail/eTail, or with a Channel Partner. The last day for claiming a free-of-charge upgrade is January 15^th, 2010 for customers of Parallels Desktop 4 for Mac. No end date for claiming a free of charge upgrade is given for Parallels Desktop Switch to Mac Edition customers.

There are three options on how you will receive your free-of-charge upgrade key.

1. Purchased directly from Parallels at www.parallels.com
   Customers who bought Parallels Desktop 4 for Mac directly from the Parallels website will automatically receive an email from Parallels with their unique upgrade key with 7 business days of the release of the new product.

2. Purchased in Retail in the US and Canada
   Customers who bought retail box or download version of Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac from a retailer (published by Nova Development) on October 1^st 2009 or later need to claim their upgrade directly with Nova Development. Click here to claim your upgrade key.

3. Purchased from a Channel Partner/Reseller in EMEA
   Customers who purchased Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac with a Reseller in EMEA have to submit their proof of purchase (invoice) that clearly states the date of the purchase (October 1^st onwards).
