SaaS — for ISVs
As an independent software vendor (ISV), you have already built products which you sell to specific markets. Parallels can extend the market reach of your products without requiring a significant amount of development or marketing by your organization. There are over 200,000 servers powered by Parallels control panels. Each of these servers can have as many as 100 small to medium business owners who are looking to purchase new software solutions — but most of these companies lack the expertise to purchase, install, and manage software solutions — making them perfect candidates for a hosted offering. There are several ways that Parallels can help you deliver your application with SaaS and increase your revenue:
- Application Packaging. Package your application with the Application Packaging Standard (APS) and utilize our Hosting Service Provider Channel to offer your applications to a broad base of end users such as SMBs and SoHos
- Partner Enablement Programs. Work with Parallels and specific Service Providers in our SaaS Partner Enablement Programs to offer your applications to end users
- Offer Application Yourself. Offer your application in the SaaS delivery model yourself to end users and businesses through the use of Parallels Virtualization and/or Automation products
Please read the following sections for more information on how Parallels Products, Parallels Open Platform, and Standards can help increase your revenue. Package your application with the Application Packaging Standard (APS)
The Application Packaging Standard (APS) allows Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to package their applications so that they can be rapidly deployed using control panels such as Plesk and Parallels Operations Automation. This helps service providers deploy a large variety of applications and helps ISVs get their applications to market through the extensive service provider channel.
- There is no charge to have your application packaged in the APS Format.
- Details of the APS requirements, specifications and APS Certification are available for download at APSstandard.com.

Offer your application yourself with Parallels Products and Open Platform
Parallels has a huge channel of service providers that utilize standards, virtualization and automation software to help deliver SaaS applications quickly and profitably. If you decide to offer your application(s) yourself, Parallels products can work for you as well to meet your business model goals and objectives.
- Standards. The Application Packaging Standard (APS) enables you to package your application so it can be rapidly deployed using control panels such as Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Automation. This helps ease the resources required for server management and administration so you can get your application offered as SaaS, quickly and easily.
- Virtualization. Parallels Virtuozzo Containers provide an isolated environment so single instance applications can be deployed without using the resources of an entire server. Virtuozzo Containers provide minimal overhead to maximize the number of customers that can be deployed on a single server while providing superior performance and the necessary isolation from other applications.
- Automation. Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Automation can automate the delivery of SaaS applications. Increase your profitability with automation by reducing the time spent provisioning applications, adding users, configuring applications, and billing customers.
