What Others Are Saying about Parallels Desktop – Part 1


Every time we launch a new release of Parallels Desktop™ for Mac, we are quite excited to learn how the international trade press reacts to our product’s latest features and capabilities. This response is a major indicator of the success that we may expect for any new release—apart from the feedback that we receive from our customers and users, either directly or through social media channels.

Fortunately, the reviews of our current release, Parallels Desktop 15, give rise to the conclusion that we got it right again. And to save you the time and trouble of sifting through all the relevant digital journals, we assembled the verdicts from some reviews in this blog post, with more to come in a future post.

ZDNet

This highly successful website has more than 36 million visitors per month and specializes in technology news from the business environment. It concludes that in “extreme” cases such as high-end computer-aided design (CAD) applications, there still is no way around a powerful PC workstation. But ZDNet does characterize Parallels Desktop 15 as a “best of both worlds” solution, offering broader support for PC software than ever and enabling Mac users to utilize all relevant business applications in a corporate environment still dominated by Windows.

This website is often quoted by media heavyweights such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times for well-substantiated news from the Apple world. In their review of Parallels Desktop 15, 9to5Mac concludes that optimizations pertaining to DirectX 11 and macOS Catalina have made the Parallels solution an alternative to consider when it comes to Windows virtualization on Mac systems. Or in the author’s own words: “… the team at Parallels has to keep moving because macOS keeps moving. If you want the latest speed improvements, access to DirectX 11 supported apps, and support for Sidecar in Catalina, it’s a worthy upgrade. I appreciate the speed improvements myself.

Macworld (UK)

This leading Mac publication, affiliated with IDG, also emphasizes the great enhancements that Parallels Desktop 15 offers with its support for Catalina and DirectX 11. Awarding the new release 4.5 out of 5 stars, the author says it has an exceptionally high level of sophistication and declares, “If you need to run Mac and Windows apps side by side then Parallels is still the leader of the pack.”
