Secure Golden Image Provisioning from Protected Enterprise Storage — Azure Integration
Many organizations rely on golden images—preconfigured operating system and application templates—to automate virtual machine provisioning. These images are commonly stored in secure enterprise repositories such as SharePoint, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, Amazon S3, or Google Drive.
Until now, provisioning required publicly accessible, unauthenticated URLs, making it difficult for organizations with strict security or compliance requirements to automate deployments while keeping their deployment assets protected.
Parallels Desktop 26.4 adds support for authenticated Azure Blob Storage, allowing IT teams to provision virtual machines directly from access-controlled storage locations.

Improved Visibility into Email-Based Activations

Users could be prompted to complete additional setup steps, and successful enrollments could still leave local administrator accounts in place instead of transitioning to an Entra ID-managed sign-in model.
Parallels Desktop 26.4 improves this workflow by applying the provisioning package before user sign-in. This enables Windows virtual machines to enroll in Intune and complete configuration before users access the desktop. As a result, employees can sign in using their work or school account while organizations maintain compliance with existing enrollment, authentication, and device management policies. Developers running Linux virtual machines on Macs with M4 or later chips also benefit from improved CPU compatibility. Parallels Desktop now communicates Apple silicon CPU capabilities more accurately to Linux virtual machines, helping applications that rely on advanced CPU feature detection run as expected while reducing crashes caused by CPU compatibility issues, such as illegal instruction errors. This improvement helps developers maintain stable Linux environments without additional configuration or workarounds.
