Overwatch on Mac with Parallels Desktop

You may remember that the Blizzard game Overwatch—the 2016 IGN Game of the Year—was an example of a recent game that was not available to Mac users. Overwatch is available for PC, PSN, and Xbox. Fortunately, it played very well in Parallels Desktop® 12 for Mac.

That was the status a year and a half ago and so much has changed..

But a lot has happened since then. Overwatch has become even more popular; with over 30 million registered players, it has been updated many times with nine “seasons”, new maps such as Junkertown, and new characters like Brigitte or Doomfist

Parallels Desktop has been updated to version 13, with many new features such as Apple Touch Bar support for Windows programs, using Siri on Windows and Cortana on Mac, and so many more performance improvements.

And, of course, in the world of operating systems, both Apple® and Microsoft have released many updates and upgrades.

With this many changes and updates, the question is: Is Overwatch still an example of a recent, popular Windows-only game that plays well on the Mac in Parallels Desktop?

There is really only one way to find out: to try it ourselves. We installed Blizzard’s Overwatch in the latest Windows 10 in the latest Parallels Desktop and play it. And that is just what I did!

I am happy to report that Overwatch still runs great in Parallels Desktop 13. Check out the short video below which uses Doomfist:

A short video of Overwatch, one of the most popular multiplayer online first-person shooter from Blizzard.
