“Rapid growth through acquisitions led to a highly fragmented IT landscape. With Parallels RAS and IGEL, we now have a standardized, secure workspace across all clinics.”

CORIUS Netherlands, part of CORIUS Group

The challengeStandardizing IT strategy across a fast-growing network of 50+ clinics in three countries

CORIUS Group is one of the largest dermatology networks in Europe, operating more than 50 clinics across the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. Collectively, these clinics serve approximately 1.4 million patients annually.

As the organization brought new clinics under its wings through acquisitions, each new clinic brought its own IT systems, devices, and IT processes. Over time, that created a fragmented environment that was difficult to manage and even harder to scale.

IT teams had limited visibility across locations. Rolling out updates or enforcing security policies required manual effort at the local level. Clinicians moving between clinics often encountered different systems and workflows, slowing them down.

This left CORIUS Group needing a new way to maintain their high security and compliance standards across multiple countries, roll out updates consistently to a wide array of devices, and address inconsistent user experiences, even in newer offices.

To prevent any potential impacts on client care, and to set the organization up for success in future growth initiatives, CORIUS Group needed a way to bring it all together into one cohesive system. They needed to find a solution that could:

  • Standardize IT across clinics in multiple countries
  • Provide clinicians secure access to applications and patient data, regardless of device or location
  • Accelerate onboarding for newly acquired clinics
  • Reduce the time and cost required to manage endpoints

The solutionA centralized, secure digital workspace with Parallels RAS and IGEL

To unify operations across so many locations under one IT umbrella, CORIUS Group implemented a standardized virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) system using Parallels RAS.

Together with IGEL Secure OS-powered endpoints, the system allowed CORIUS Group to create a centralized and consistent IT environment across all clinics.

Instead of relying on locally installed applications, clinicians now access a standardized digital workspace delivered from a central infrastructure. At the endpoint, IGEL OS replaces traditional operating systems with a purpose-built, read-only Secure Endpoint OS. On the back end, Parallels RAS allows IT teams to publish applications, desktops, and data centrally and control access in real time.

As a result, CORIUS Group replaced local installations with centralized infrastructure. Updates, patches, and security policies can now be applied once and rolled out everywhere. Clinicians can now access critical systems like electronic medical records and productivity tools securely from any clinic without relying on local installations. IT administrators can maintain systems centrally, including pushing out updates and managing security without direct access to each device in the organization.

The resultBetter security, lower operational costs, and a central IT model that supports faster growth

By moving to a centralized IT model, CORIUS Group simplified operations and created a more scalable foundation for future expansion.

  • Lower endpoint costs: Reduced hardware expenses by an estimated 30% to 40% while extending device life span
  • Stronger security and compliance: Eliminated local data storage and improved compliance with GDPR and healthcare regulations
  • Faster onboarding: Reduced employee setup time from days to minutes
  • High availability: Ensured continuity of care with improved system infrastructure and rapid recovery times
  • Improved user experience: Delivered a consistent workspace across all clinic locations
  • Scalable growth: Enabled new clinics to integrate in less than one week

With Parallels RAS and IGEL Secure Endpoint OS, CORIUS Group now operates a secure, scalable IT environment that supports both day-to-day operations and ongoing expansion across Europe.
