Parallels Customer Experience Program for Individual Users

This page covers participation in the program for customers running Parallels Desktop 27 for Mac Standard and Pro editions and newer product versions.

Our Customer Experience Program (CEP) is a way for you to contribute to the design and development of Parallels products and to receive personalized tips, recommendations, and offers for your use of Parallels products. This program enables you to provide us with information about the features you use, your configuration, and the problems you encounter. Based on this information, we improve Parallels products and implement new, valuable features. We also use this information to decide which configurations we no longer need to support.

The program is voluntary. You choose whether or not to participate – either when you download a trial or during installation – and can opt out at any time.

Using Parallels Desktop provided by your employer or school?

Your IT administrator manages Customer Experience Program participation for your organization. See Parallels Customer Experience Program for Organizations.

How does CEP work?

Once you join, we automatically collect information about your device and how you use Parallels products including hardware and software configuration, product settings, and feature usage. This data helps us improve Parallels products and enables us to tailor tips, recommendations, and offers to how you work.

As part of CEP, we never collect your data files or documents, and do not collect any personally identifiable data, including your name, address, or phone number.

What does CEP collect?

Depending on the product, some of the following data is collected through CEP:

  • Hardware and software configuration
  • Product preferences and settings
  • Feature usage and application events, including initiating product functions and timestamps

How often does CEP send data?

The data collected through CEP is sent to Parallels with different frequency depending on the data type. Some information that doesn’t change often, like hardware configuration, may only be sent once every 3 months; while some feature usage information may be sent in real time.

Will I be contacted or receive spam if I participate?

Parallels associates your CEP data (current and future) in our systems with your account id and uses it to send you tips, personalized and special marketing communications and offers related to your use of our products.

If I choose to participate, can I opt out later?

Yes. You can leave the program at any time by opting-out of the CEP data collection in the product Preferences.

How does Parallels protect my privacy if I choose to participate?

Parallels has stringent data privacy and information security processes in place to protect your information. More details are contained in our Privacy Statement.
