A few keys work differently in Windows. Here are the shortcuts you’ll use most often.

Copy and paste – including between macOS and Windows 11
Open the Windows 11 Start menu
Switch between Windows 11 apps

Choose How Windows 11 Appears on Your Mac

Choose the view that works best for you:

  • Window mode: Run Windows 11 in a window on your Mac, like any other app. Your Mac desktop stays visible.
  • Full Screen mode: Use Windows 11 across the entire display. Swipe left or right with three fingers to move between Windows 11 and macOS.
  • Coherence mode: Run Windows and macOS applications side by side without keeping the Windows desktop visible.

Your Mac files may already be available in Windows 11.

Your Mac Desktop, Documents, and Downloads folders can appear in Windows under the same names. Open and save files from either operating system without creating duplicate copies.
