Secure Remote Access with Parallels RAS

Parallels® RAS offers a wide range of features and tools to monitor and secure remote access to applications and data in multi-cloud environments.

Reinforce Security from a Centralized Console

Parallels RAS reinforces data security and meets compliance regulations with extra layers of protection, safeguarding assets with strict system hardening and a lockdown of data access.

Multifactor Authentication

Multifactor Authentication

Use multiple multi-factor authentication (MFA) services for an extra layer of protection. Provide high-level data security by integrating RADIUS, Deepnet, Gemalto, smartcard authentication, Google Authenticator, and other time-based, one-time Password (TOTP) authenticators.

Data Segregation

Data Segregation

Parallels RAS supports data segregation in a multi-tenancy environment by enabling the creation of an unlimited number of independent sites inside the same farm. No applications, desktops, or data can be shared between sites, which ensures data protection.

Advanced Filtering

Advanced Expression-Based Filtering

Restrict access by defining filtering rules based on users/groups, IP address, MAC address, and devices. Expression-based filtering increases granular control for user access to published resources. Determine what policies should be applied to each client and restrict logon hours.

SAML SSO Authentication

SAML SSO Authentication

Streamline the management of user identities from different organizations while providing single sign-on (SSO) capabilities. Enable users to effortlessly switch between hosted Windows, web, and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications without being prompted to reenter credentials.

Kiosk Mode

Kiosk Mode

Limit end user accessibility by locking down Windows PCs and transforming them into Kiosk Mode (thin, client-like) devices. The Kiosk Mode limits users from changing system settings and provides admins with a higher level of control over connected devices.

Client Policy

Client Policy

Reinforce data security by defining sets of rules for managing, controlling, and restricting the setting options available to users. A client group policy controls which settings are available to configure on the Parallels Client interface.

Certificate Management and Let’s Encrypt

Certificate Management and Let’s Encrypt

Simplify secure user access by integrating out-of-the-box SSL certificate creation with Let’s Encrypt. Parallels RAS automates the renewal process and lets you manage certificates from the Parallels RAS Console.

Encryption Protocols

Encryption Protocols

Parallels RAS Secure Client Gateway encrypts end-user connections with SSL/TLS and FIPS 140-2-compliant encryption. Ensure adherence to data compliance policies such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.

Clipboard Restriction

Clipboard Restriction

Organizations can avoid any unwanted data leakage from published applications by disabling copy and paste on the clipboard, thereby reducing the risk of sensitive data (such as credit card details or patient records) getting stolen.

Monitoring and Reporting

Identify suspicious activity with detailed reports that provide useful insight into server health, application usage, connected devices and user/user group activities.

Reporting Engine

The Parallels RAS Reporting Engine transforms raw data into visual and intuitive reports, providing IT with an infrastructure overview. It creates detailed reports about server usage, what devices are used, what applications are accessed and more. By scanning these reports, organizations can enhance the performance of Parallels RAS and Windows Server components. These reports are useful as part of your business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) plan.

The Parallels RAS Reporting Engine relies on Microsoft SQL Express or full edition (SSRS). It extracts raw data from the SQL database, enabling real-time reporting about farm activities.

Available Reports

The Parallels RAS Reporting Engine provides IT with insight about users, Active Directory (AD) groups, devices, servers and applications’ activities.

User Reports

Receive real-time information about users connected to the Parallels RAS installation, session activity, connected devices, and the client OSs used. IT administrators can adjust the infrastructure according to traffic requirements.

Group Reports

Users' activity can be monitored at Active Directory (AD) group level, providing insight into group dynamics. By checking group activity, IT admins can adjust the settings of the Parallels RAS installation to meet the different groups' requirements.

Device Reports

The devices report provides IT administrators with information on all the devices used on the Parallels RAS installation. IT administrators can plan for future expansion or development based on this report.

Server Reports

Server activity running on RD Session Host and VDI are monitored in this group of reports. Organizations can discover and remove bottlenecks by evaluating server session activity and reallocating hardware resources.

Application Reports

Published application usage on the Parallels RAS installation is monitored in this group of reports. IT administrators can track which applications are most commonly used and remove unused applications to save hardware resources.

Logon Duration Report

This report provides the logon duration for all users, per user, and users on specific servers. It includes information on total logon duration and breaks it down to user profile and Group Policy Object (GPO) load time amongst others.
